About The Medical Countermeasures Coalition

Our Mission

Our coalition was created to make the development and sustainment of medical countermeasures a top priority to better anticipate and respond to emerging public health threats. We achieve that by supporting sound public policy, strong public-private partnerships, research, development, manufacturing, access, and distribution

What are Medical Countermeasures (MCMs)?

Medical countermeasures are medicines and medical supplies used to diagnose, prevent, or treat diseases related to chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear threats. MCMs can include biologic products (vaccines, blood products, and antibodies), drugs (antimicrobial or antiviral drugs), and devices (diagnostic tests and personal protective equipment)

Our Vision

Our coalition was created to make the development and sustainment of medical countermeasures a top priority to better anticipate and respond to emerging public health threats. We achieve that by supporting sound public policy, strong public-private partnerships, research, development, manufacturing, access, and distribution

Member Organizations

MC2 members include academic institutions, biotech and pharmaceutical companies, and other organizations dedicated to building an effective medical countermeasure enterprise through sound public policy and strong public-private partnerships

Driving Sound Policy and Public and Private Partnership

MC2 works to enhance national public health security and emergency preparedness through sound public policy — including supporting domestic manufacturing of pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical interventions as well as the development of vaccines, drugs, and therapies — and building strong public-private partnerships.
